Developing Interactive Education Materials

Developing Interactive Educational Materials explores instructional design components as delivered to the student via a computer system.  Utilizing fully interactive screens and data tracking capabilities, the curriculum designer is capable of developing highly sophisticated instructional software and presentations with the Macromedia Authorware 5 software.  Taken during the Winter Session 2001, instructors Paul Hyde and Joyce Perry delivered tips in producing quality 'visual' materials and offered curriculum design suggestions for our computer delivered instructional models.  Course participants were encouraged to revisit their ideas and structures for each lesson/unit, connections to standards, and plans for assessment. Utilizing Authorware's flow-line concept as well as exploring the possibilities and nearly limitless capabilities of this powerful design tool, each student developed a linear presentation and a final presentation incorporating an existing classroom lesson.
